I couldn't pass up the opportunity to snap a picture with handsome Director Cary Cronenwett (left) and equally handsome co-art-director Flo McGarrell (right) under the marquee!
It screened at the Frameline film Video Festival, in the giant, art deco Castro Theater. It was incredible to see all that super8 footage blown up on the big screen. Cary and Tiger did an awesome job with the editing and the soundtrack is beautiful. Check out the writeup in the San Francisco Bay Guardian. It will be travelling the film festival circuit, including Outfest in Los Angeles.

Maggots and Men is an experimental historical narrative, set in a mythologized, post-revolutionary Russia that re-imagines the story of the 1921 uprising of the Kronstadt sailors with a subtext of gender anarchy. The film dramatizes the events of the rebellion and pays tribute to the sailors’ earnest pursuit of communist ideals. Agit-prop theater group Blue Blouse guides us through the story, which is narrated by fictionalized letters written by Stepan Petrichenko, the leader of the Provisional Revolutionary Committee.
This project is sponsored by the Intersection For the Arts, Frameline Completion Fund, Horizon
